WASHINGTON 鈥� Police have identified the man who was killed and Monday morning.
On Tuesday, Alexandria police said the man found dead at Beverly Park is 24-year-old Jose Luis Ferman Perez, an Alexandria resident.
On Monday, Alexandria police were called to Beverly Park on North Overlook Drive around 8 a.m. after a person walking through the park found an unresponsive man.
Police say Perez鈥檚 death was a homicide. His body was found with upper-body trauma, police say.
The type of crime is 鈥渦nheard of鈥� in the neighborhood around the park, says Crystal Nosal, public information officer with the Alexandria Police Department.
The case marks Alexandria鈥檚 third murder of the year.
