WASHINGTON 鈥� Bob Dylan, who earlier this week was named the first musician in the 115-year history of the Nobel to , will be honored by a D.C. museum, too.
The Smithsonian鈥檚 National Portrait Gallery announced Friday that a portrait of Dylan will be installed in its 鈥淐elebrate鈥� space on the first floor of the museum. The portrait taken by John Cohen in 1962 can be viewed beginning Monday.
The gallery has two portraits of Dylan 鈥� the other is a聽1966 poster by Milton Glaser, said gallery spokeswoman聽Evanne Allen.
Dylan, 75, won the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature on Thursday for “having created new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
The museum located at聽8th and F Streets NW is open from聽11:30 a.m. 鈥� 7 p.m. daily. Admission is free.
