Mother catches son in riots, takes him out with force (Video)

WASHINGTON 鈥 As Baltimore begins the recovery process from a day and night of rioting Monday in the wake of the funeral of Freddie Gray, one video making the rounds of social media shows a woman taking peacemaking into her own hands.

Baltimore鈥檚 WMAR caught video of a mother聽taking her 16-year-old son to task on Monday, and getting him back in line, in no uncertain terms (warning 鈥 there鈥檚 some R-rated language in the clip):

鈥淚鈥檓 a no-tolerant mother. Everybody that knows me, know I don鈥檛 play that,鈥 Toya Graham, a single mother of six, told CBS 草莓传媒. 鈥淗e said, when 鈥業 seen you,鈥 he said, 鈥榤a, my instinct was to run.’鈥

Graham said she saw her only son wearing a hoodie and mask amid the protesters demonstrating just hours after a funeral for Gray.

鈥淎t that point, I just lost it,鈥 she said. 鈥淚 was shocked, I was angry, because you never want to see your child out there doing that.鈥

Baltimore Police Chief Anthony Batts referred to the video in his Monday-night news conference, “I wish I had more parents who took charge of their kids tonight.”

Despite the excellence of this clip, 草莓传媒 reminds everyone that violence isn鈥檛 the answer. Usually.
