WASHINGTON 鈥� The 11-month-old who was the subject of an Amber Alert was found safe after a carjacking in Baltimore Wednesday.
An Amber Alert was issued for Leo Garcia-Lopez, an 11-month-old Hispanic boy, who police say was taken in a carjacking in the Baltimore area Wednesday afternoon.
The child’s mother was unloading groceries from her vehicle in the 400 block of Kate Street in Baltimore, Maryland, when the suspect entered the vehicle and drove away, she told Baltimore police. The keys were in the ignition and her 11-month-old son was still inside, the mother told police.
The suspect, described as a black teenager, was taken into custody after around 5 p.m., police said. He was wearing a possible school uniform at the time of the carjacking, according to police.
Police have not released any additional details about the case or the suspect’s arrest.
