WASHINGTON – When someone says “rye,” you probably think bread, or whiskey.
But soon you might also be thinking beer, as in Ruthless Rye IPA, a new seasonal offering from California’s Sierra Nevada Brewing Company that has already started showing up on store shelves in the D.C.-area.
Rye in beer is not necessarily new, but not all brewers have had success creating a rye brew that agrees with the palates of beer drinkers.
