New York investors buy Rosslyn’s Le Meridien hotel for $52M

WASHINGTON — Rosslyn’s posh Le Meridien Arlington hotel has been acquired by New York-based private real estate investment trust Carey Watermark Investors 2 Inc. for $51.88 million.

The price is almost $14.1 million more than the hotel sold for in February 2012.

Le Meridien is part of the two-tower Waterview building at 1121 19th Street North in Rosslyn, overlooking the Potomac. In addition to the 154-room Le Meridien Hotel, the building includes office space and condos, neither of which are included in Cary Watermark’s acquisition.

Waterview was built in 2008. The hotel, originally the Palomar and operated by Kimpton, was converted to the Starwood Hotels & Resort’s Le Meridien brand in 2012.

The hotel will continue to be managed by HEI Hotels & Resorts.

Le Meridien Arlington is now undergoing a $3 million renovation of its guestrooms and meeting space.
