Accenture to acquire Alexandria-based DPS

WASHINGTON — Global consulting company Accenture continues to expand its Accenture Federal Services with the announcement that the Arlington-based company will acquire Defense Point Security LLC for an undisclosed sum.

Alexandria-based DPS is a privately-held, federal government cybersecurity contractor.

“The sophistication of cyberattacks continues to increase,” said George McKenzie, chief executive officer of Defense Point Security. “We are focused on evolving the defensive strategies and solutions to best address the rapidly evolving federal threat landscape.”

Accenture other recent acquisitions to grow its cybersecurity work included Arlington-based FusionX and Houston-based Cimation.

In 2015, Accenture acquired Chantilly-based IT company Agilex Technologies.
