DC’s next Trader Joe’s coming to Union Market

WASHINGTON — Trader Joe’s will open a location in D.C.’s Union Market neighborhood next year — its third location in the District.

The 15,000-square-foot store will be part of the Edison Building, a mixed-use project development at 1240 4th St. Northeast, It is scheduled to open in the second half of 2017.

Trader Joe’s will occupy about half of the Edison’s ground floor. The building will also include about 190 apartments.

Trader Joe’s has other District locations on 14th Street near the U Street Metro stop, and another on 25th Street, Northwest in Foggy Bottom.

It has plans for an additional store in D.C.’s Capitol Hill neighborhood.

Other Trader Joe’s in the D.C. area include Bethesda, Arlington, Bailey’s Crossroads, Silver Spring, Falls Church, Rockville, Springfield, Fairfax, Reston, Gaithersburg, Centerville and Alexandria.
