DC office parking isn’t cheap, but it’s no Manhattan

WASHINGTON — Off-street parking in downtown D.C. ranks in the top 10 for hourly and monthly costs, but D.C. parking is a bargain compared to New York.

Parkopedia, a parking app, and Parking Property Advisors, a parking consulting firm, rounded up in the 40 largest U.S. cities, using data from 650 garages representing more than 300,000 parking spaces.

Most expensive cities for hourly parking

  • New York City, at $27;
  • Chicago, $17;
  • Boston, $16;
  • Philadelphia, $12;
  • D.C., $11.

Most expensive cities for monthly parking

  • New York City, at $616;
  • Boston, $425;
  • San Francisco, $323;
  • Seattle, $289;
  • Philadelphia, $285;
  • D.C., $274;

The city with the cheapest average for hourly and monthly parking downtown parking is St. Louis, at just $2 an hour and $85 a month.
