WASHINGTON 鈥� Business slowed for Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino last month, but Maryland’s five other casinos all saw gaming revenue rise, led by a big jump at MGM National Harbor.
Maryland Lottery and Gaming says MGM National Harbor’s gaming revenue totaled $57.7 million in April, or about 40 percent of the total gaming revenue generated by all six Maryland casinos. MGM National Harbor’s April total was 15.6 percent more than in April 2017.
Gaming revenue from all six casinos totaled $134.5 million, up 5.7 percent.
Baltimore’s Horseshoe Casino had $21.7 million in slot and table game revenue last month, down 11.5 percent from a year ago.
Hollywood Casino Perryville had $6.9 million in revenue, up 7.3 percent. Ocean Downs had $5.5 million, up 14.8 percent, and Rocky Gap Resort generated $4.7 million in April, up 2.8 percent.
Maryland’s share of casino revenue, by law, goes to the Maryland Education Trust Fund, local impact grants, local jurisdictions, the state’s horse-racing industry and the Maryland General Fund.
