WASHINGTON — Santa Claus is coming to town — but instead of being in a sleigh, he’ll be showing off his skills Thursday afternoon as he water-skis on the Potomac.
The tradition, celebrating its 30th year, will not just see the Jolly Old Elf on the water, but a whole cast of characters including knee boarding reindeer, flying elves, a jet-skiing Grinch and the only snowman you’ll see this Christmas — Frosty, in a dinghy.
The location of the has changed from past years. It’s now going to be in Old Town Alexandria. The best viewing area will be along the waterfront from King Street South to Prince Street.
The show begins promptly at 1 p.m., but you may want to show up a little early, as there is a preshow at 12:45 p.m.
You’ll also want to stick around after the 45-minute show ends. Santa and all the others will be coming ashore to meet and take pictures with the kids.
