WASHINGTON — Tuesday, Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day, and many coffee shops around the region are celebrating with freebies, deals and contests.

: Everyone gets a free medium cup of hot or iced Dark Roast coffee on Tuesday. Also, DD Perks Rewards members get a coupon for a free drink any time before the end of the year. If you enroll in DD Perks on Tuesday, you’ll get coupons good for four free coffees.
:Â Stop in Tuesday and they’ll give you a free 12-ounce cup of coffee and a free Original Glazed Doughnut. You can also pick up a small iced coffee, latte or mocha for $1.
:Â If you’re a teacher, you can pick up a free any size coffee or tea every Tuesday during the school year at participating D.C.-area restaurants.
