Metro worker suspended for rail yard collision

WASHINGTON — A Metro train operator has been suspended after a train collision in a rail yard on Tuesday morning.

Metro spokesman Richard Jordan said the train was moving at a “low speed” in the Branch Avenue Rail Yard when it made “minor contact” with another rail car. Jordan said there was no damage.

A red signal violation was not involved in the incident, Metro said. But an investigation into the collision continues.
