WASHINGTON 鈥� Metrorail was warning people not to use Metrorail Wednesday morning after a disabled train briefly shuttered service on the Orange and Silver lines between East Falls Church and Clarendon in Virginia.
The disabled train was at Ballston.
Service was restored around 8:35 a.m.
In a series of tweets, Metrorail offered a variety of alternatives. Though a tweet suggesting riders walk to Calrendon elicited the most jeers.

The shutdown started shortly before 8 a.m. and was lifted about a half hour later.
But according to 草莓传媒 readers, the issues started much earlier.
Twitter user Todd Huse said trouble was brewing around 7:15 a.m.
Which prompted the Unsuck DC Metro account to add: “‘briefly’ lol.”
