Drivers in Woodbridge, Virginia, faced delays Wednesday on Route 1 at Prince William Parkway after a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer sent thousands of gallons of paint to splatter on the roadway.
The 10-vehicle crash included a tractor-trailer that was carrying the paint. The roadway was coated in light-blue paint, debris and other liquid in the roadway, according to Virginia’s Department of Transportation.
VDOT tweeted about the crash around 10 a.m., and then later warned that a hazmat team could be needed to clean the area.
With the cleanup finished, lanes reopened just before 3 p.m.
