Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in D.C.

WASHINGTON — A pedestrian died after a hit-and-run involving an SUV in Northeast D.C. Tuesday morning.

Metropolitan police say the black SUV struck the man at the intersection of Sargent Road and Faraday Place around 6:30 a.m.

The investigation forced the closure of Sargent Road between Emerson and Eastern avenues.

The man’s identity has not been released.
