WASHINGTON — A business operating in D.C. is offering free marijuana in exchange for a so-called “donation.”
The operators say they think what they’re doing is legal, and now they have a mobile app allowing people to place orders right from their phones.
The is available for Android only, but an iPhone version is coming soon, according to the Kush Gods Facebook page.
The launch of the app was announced in a Facebook post on Christmas Day, just three days after and charged with illegally selling marijuana in D.C. from cars covered with images of pot plants.
The Kush Gods also have a on change.org calling on police to drop the charges.
The petition also says the donations will help keep the company running, as well as help provide free medical marijuana to veterans and people with cancer and epilepsy.

D.C.’s marijuana says you can give away up to 1 ounce of marijuana to another person, but you can’t sell any amount.

“MPD is not going to give legal advice, but will caution the community that distribution of marijuana in the District of Columbia for anything of value is illegal, and of particular note, the courts in DC do a pretty good job of identifying folks who attempt to circumvent the criminal statutes.”
