WASHINGTON — Uber is not only a ride-sharing service — it’s a puppy-sharing service, too. At least that’s the case on Wednesday, when for a second year it will deliver puppies in D.C. for a good cause.

D.C. is once again among the cities where Uber and Animal Planet are working together to deliver puppies on Wednesday between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The experience costs $30 for a 15-minute window.

Seem a little expensive for some puppy playtime? Uber says the money will go to the , a nonprofit animal shelter located in Northwest.

And there’s good news if you find yourself unable to pull away from a pooch — the puppies are available for adoption.

The company says availability will be limited. Its last year brought an influx of requests — including in D.C.

“Demand will be high as many will want to play with these cute little canines, so your patience is appreciated,” Uber said in a news release.

Last year, D.C. ranked near the top when it came to — behind Seattle and Los Angeles.

In 2015, more than 70 puppies were adopted in the participating 10 cities. In fact, all of the canines circulated during last year’s event in D.C. found forever homes.

Even if you don’t get puppy time, you can still .

The event comes days before  — the annual TV program where puppies rumble on a mock gridiron. The show airs opposite the Super Bowl.

To participate:

  • Open the Uber app between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday and enter “PUPPIESDC.”
  • Request the “PUPPIES” option in the app.
  • Make sure you have an enclosed space for the puppies before their arrival.

Editor’s Note: WARL and ݮý are partners for the  segment where adoptable pets are showcased.
