3 hurt after fight breaks out in DC Jail

WASHINGTON — Three inmates were taken to the hospital after a fight broke out at the D.C. Jail Thursday night.

Some of the inmates at the D.C. Central Detention Facility suffered cuts and puncture wounds from a homemade weapon, or “shank.”

Department of Corrections spokeswoman Sylvia Lane tells ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ that five people were involved in the fight. They all suffered nonlife threatening injuries.

The DOC is investigating what led to the fight.
