WASHINGTON — The National Park Service is celebrating 100 year and to mark the occasion, there are several events around the country — including one in D.C. this weekend.
National Geographic and the National Park Service are working together to host at national parks around the country, and the cornerstone event is in D.C. May 20-21.
A two-day Biodiversity Festival will be on the National Mall at Constitution Gardens and will feature hands-on science exhibits, food, art and entertainment. The festival is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday with special event Friday evening. View the full schedule on the .

²ÝÝ®´«Ã½â€™s Hillary Howard is emceeing the Biodiversity Festival’s opening ceremony, which will feature Department of Interior, National Park Service, and National Geographic Society leadership as well as remarks from Dr. Edward O. Wilson, a former naturalist and synthesizer in works stretching from pure biology across to the social sciences and humanities.
