WASHINGTON — Liberty took off. The male eagle at the National Arboretum fledged from his nest Thursday morning.
It happened at 6:12 a.m.
“It was a perfect launch and very intentional,” said Julia M. M. Cecere, spokeswoman for the American Eagle Foundation, in a news release.
A few seconds later, “Mr. President,” Liberty’s dad, flew off.

Thousands have already viewed the video.
Liberty and his sister, Freedom, have captured people’s attention since they hatched in March.
