WASHINGTON — Two people were killed and at least six were wounded in a shooting in Southeast D.C. Saturday night.
Two male victims diedÌýon the scene. They have not been identified. At least six others, including an 8-year-old boy, haveÌýnon-life-threatening injuries, D.C. Interim Police Chief Peter ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ham said in a briefing.
Two victims were transported by D.C. Fire to a hospital. Three victims, including the child, took themselves to a hospital. One victimÌýwas found outside Engine 25 firehouse.
The shooting happened on theÌý2600 block of Birney Place in the Barry Farm neighborhood aroundÌý8:30 p.m.Ìý

²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ham said police believe the shooting happened during a music event that was outside in the parking lot between two apartment buildings; and “it looks like there were multiple shooters,” though the number is not clear at this time. No arrests have been made.
Because some of the injured took themselves to the hospital, police believe there could me more victims.
