WASHINGTON 鈥斅燜riends, families and neighbors of 17-year-old Kevin Jackson聽gathered Sunday for a vigil to remember his life.
“I just want people to pray for my son,” Jackson’s聽father . “Use his death as something to allow you to be something different than another young, black man lying on the street dead,” he said.
Jackson聽was was shot Thursday on a residential street in Anacostia. He and another man were both shot around聽2:15 p.m. Jackson was found in the 1900 block of 16th Street SE. The other man was found on 17th Street SE and was taken to a local hospital in critical but stable condition.
