WASHINGTON 鈥� A woman died after a she was caught in crossfire in Southeast D.C. Monday morning.
Police responded to a shooting in the聽2400 block of Elvans Road in Southeast around 10:15 a.m. Monday and found two people — a man and woman — suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both victims were transported to the hospital, where the woman — 68-year-old Vivian Marrow — died from her injuries. The man was admitted in stable condition, police said.
Police said Marrow, a D.C. resident, was making her way to the store when she was caught in the middle of an apparent gun battle between gangs.
Police are searching for a suspect described as a black man who wore a silver jacket and a black face mask at the time of the shooting. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
