DC Streetcar rear-ends Metrobus, 10 hurt

WASHINGTON – A D.C. Streetcar rear-ended a Metrobus on D.C.’s H Street Friday, sending 10 people to the hospital.

Just before noon, the streetcar struck the bus at the intersection of H and 11th streets in Northeast, said D.C. Fire officials. Ten people aboard the bus were injured in the crash, and they were all transported to an area hospital on a medical ambulance bus, D.C. Fire said.

Their injuries are minor, D.C. Fire added.

D.C. Streetcar service was suspended after the crash, and resumed following maintenance and a safety check.

There is no word yet on the extent of damage to the streetcar or bus.
