WASHINGTON — A police officer has been injured after being shot in Northwest D.C.
It happened on the 4900 block of Kansas Avenue around 7 a.m. A U.S. Park Police officer was shot in the lower body. A law enforcement source told ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ that the officer’s weapon accidentally discharged during the execution of a search warrant.
He was taken to the hospital.
The investigation blocked traffic on 5th and Farragut streets in both directions for a few hours, as police converged in the area.
