WASHINGTON — Oren Dorell, a foreign affairs reporter for USA Today, was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Northeast D.C. on Friday night.

In a news release, D.C. police said Dorell was killed when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a Toyota Camry in the 1100 block of H Street Northeast around 8:30 p.m. on Friday.
Dorell was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said their investigation revealed the driver of the Toyota Camry was driving under the influence.
The driver, 47-year-old Daryl Grant Alexander of Southeast D.C., was arrested and charged with second degree murder, driving under the influence and leaving after colliding.
Dorell was 53.
