WASHINGTON 鈥 A kitten who was found shivering in a Fairfax County storm drain will soon be looking for a forever home.
According to a video posted Monday on the county鈥檚 , volunteers heard cries coming from outside the Fairfax County Animal Shelter on West Ox Road. There, a white kitten 鈥 who has been named Jaxom — was found in a storm drain, most likely abandoned by someone, according to the video.
The 4-week-old kitten was taken to Pender Veterinary Centre for emergency treatment.
Jaxom has since made progress in his healing, and has moved in with foster volunteer Dana Grimm until he鈥檚 ready for adoption.
In the video, Grimm says Jaxom is now 8 weeks old, and is eating a combination of formula and wet food. He had pink eye and fleas when she took him in, and still has a little bare spot on his belly.
鈥淚鈥檓 hoping that he鈥檒l find a very happy family that maybe has a kid, because he鈥檚 very energetic and loves to play,鈥 Grimm says. 鈥淚t might also be nice if they have another cat or maybe a dog that he can play with, because he is a very energetic little monster.鈥
