WASHINGTON — The second in-custody death in Fairfax County鈥檚 Adult Detention Center this year is the result of natural causes.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner Paul Guida — 68, of Falls Church — died because he had diabetes, high blood pressure and clogged arteries.
Guida was found dead Oct. 17 in the detention center infirmary where he’d been since being taken into custody.
The incident that lead to Guida’s arrest involved him violating a protective custody order by arriving at a Falls Church home at 1:20 a.m. on Oct. 1.
The home’s occupants called 911 and Guida reportedly told the responding officer that he had just left the hospital and a taxi dropped him off at the residence, according to a Fairfax County Police .
The first in-custody death this year in the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center a woman with mental health issues who was repeatedly shot with a stun gun by Sheriff’s Deputies.
No charges were filed in that death.
