WASHINGTON 鈥� One man is dead after a motorcycle and tractor trailer collided in Springfield, causing major traffic delays through the Tuesday evening commute.
Fairfax County police say the motorcycle and tractor trailer crashed around 1 p.m. on Backlick Road. The crash closed Backlick Road in both directions between Barta Road and Fullerton Road for several hours. All lanes reopened around 5:45 p.m.
Officials have not released any additional details about the crash at this time, including which party died.
