WASHINGTON — A substitute art teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools is facing charges of being drunk in public after police say students found him passed out at his desk.

Konbeh Koroma, 24, of Springfield, Virginia, was working as a substitute art teacher for grades 10-12 at James W. Robinson Secondary School when students say they found him unresponsive and tried to wake him up, police said.

A school resource officer was contacted, who determined Koroma was under the influence of alcohol, police said. The substitute teacher was arrested and taken to the adult detention center, according to police.

Koroma has been dismissed from his position, John Torre with Fairfax County Public Schools said in an email to ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½.

Drunk in public is a class 4 misdemeanor in Virginia and is punishable by a fine.
