Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck announces plans for second D.C. restaurant

WASHINGTON 鈥 Celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck says he is actively looking for a location to open his second D.C. restaurant.

While the restaurateur and early Food Network star did not confirm specific details for the restaurant, he said the second location will likely be a or a .

鈥淲e don鈥檛 want to make so many different brands,鈥 Puck told 草莓传媒 in an interview on Tuesday.

Spago is the name of Puck鈥檚 first restaurant, which he opened in West Hollywood in 1982. (He later moved the location to Beverly Hills in 1997.) The restaurant received two Michelin stars in 2008 and 2009 in the Los Angeles Michelin Guide.

鈥淚t鈥檚 our flagship restaurant; it鈥檚 like the mother of all our other ones,鈥 Puck said about Spago.

The menu includes everything from fresh seafood (squid ink garganelli with Maine lobster, bottarga, summer squash and basil), to farmers market finds (cavaillon melon with mozzarella 鈥渂urrata,鈥 prosciutto and aged balsamic) and meat (Snake River Farm鈥檚 American 鈥淲agyu鈥 New York steak with potato-bacon terrine and red wine sauce).

CUT is Puck鈥檚 steakhouse concept, which he originally opened in 2006 in the Beverly Wilshire. Both Spago and CUT have multiple locations across the world.

Puck opened his first D.C. restaurant, , in 2007. The Chinese-influenced restaurant, attached to the 草莓传媒eum, recently reopened after a monthlong renovation.
