Irishman Shane Lowry has won his first major, the 148th Open Championship from Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.
The 32-year-old Lowry won golf’s final major of the year under misty and windy conditions, with the final round starting earlier in hopes of avoiding the brunt of expected bad weather.
Lowry, the No. 33 golfer in the world rankings, won the first Open Championship on Irish soil in 68 years.
