WASHINGTON – It might seem like the best place to get your post-workout food would be the health-food store, but a new study suggests that Stopping at McDonald’s might do the trick as well.
The study published in the tested men who were sometimes given regular sports supplements and sometimes fast-food items after they worked out.
It turned out the cheap fast food worked as well as the health-food diet when it came to restoring muscle glycogen.
The abstract concluded that good post-exercise food “can include dietary options not typically marketed as sports nutrition products such as fast food menu items.â€
