Metro planning ahead for weekend weather
Trains are set to run every 20 minutes on the Red Line, and every 25 minutes on all other lines except the Green Line, where normal weekend service is scheduled.
Metro says the weather may force some above ground work to be called off, but no weather-related service changes are expected.
Because of the threat of flooding, Metro’s Plant Maintenance team will beef up staffing to make sure in the underground system are working and don’t get blocked by debris.
In case of power outages, backup generators will be available to keep the pumping stations going.
As for Metrobus, supervisors and managers will keep in touch through conference calls in case service changes are needed.
Metro says this weekend, it’s best for riders to check the status of train and bus service before they leave home.
