Hold onto your hats: Wind gusts exceed 60 mph in the DMV

WASHINGTON — The windy weather on Friday caused traffic, accidents and injuries, and in many places in the D.C. area gusts reached 60 mph and higher.

Here’s a list of places in the D.C. area where the wind speeds hit or exceeded 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service.

Maryland

  • Anne Arundel County: 64 mph
  • Baltimore County: 61 mph
  • Baltimore City: 63 mph
  • Charles County: 61 mph
  • Frederick County: 71 mph
  • Montgomery County: 69 mph
  • Prince George’s County: 67 mph
  • St. Mary’s County: 69 mph

Virginia

  • Arlington County: 62 mph
  • City of Manassas: 60 mph
  • Fairfax County: 60 mph
  • Frederick County: 61 mph
  • Loudoun County: 71 mph
  • Prince William County: 63 mph
  • Rappahannock County: 70 mph
  • Spotsylvania County: 63 mph
  • Stafford County: 60 mph

Washington, D.C.

  • Near American University: 66 mph
