Sunday provided another hot August day with temps in the 90s that felt like 100.听 There were a few pop-up showers in the region, but chances of rain this evening are only around 20%, according to the National Weather Service.
“We are going to see those temperatures keep rising to the low- to mid-90s, a little warmer than yesterday, but with the same amount of humidity. It’s going to feel over 100 degrees,” Storm Team4 meteorologist Lauryn Ricketts said early Sunday.
D.C. activated its heat emergency plan at 11 a.m. so that could open.

Early Sunday night, there were a few small pockets of heavy rain along and west of Interstate 81 around Harrisonburg, Luray and Front Royal, but nothing that looks daunting into the later hours.
NWS expects temperatures in both D.C. and Baltimore to be around 92.
The chance for isolated showers is around 30% Monday, but goes up to 40% on Tuesday and 70% on Wednesday, Ricketts said.
