WASHINGTON — A St. Mary’s County, Maryland, man is facing charges after the sheriff’s office said he engaged in a sex act with a 14-year-old earlier this month.
On Monday, St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of 51-year-old Joseph Aloysious Maddox — a Mechanicsville, Maryland, resident.
Officials say on April 16, Maddox solicited a 14-year-old girl for a sex act. The victim admitted to officials that she engaged in a sex act with him in his vehicle in Great Mills, Maryland.
St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office said an investigation led them to Maddox as the suspect.
He is charged with sexual solicitation of a minor, sex offense third degree, child porn solicit subject and assault second degree.
After Maddox’s arrest, he was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He is awaiting a bond review before the District Court Commissioner.
