WASHINGTON —- A fire in an eight-story apartment building in Silver Spring, Maryland Tuesday morning remains under investigation.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Pete Piringer tweeted that the two-alarm fire at 25 E. Wayne Ave. occurred on the eighth floor and was confined to the apartment where the fire started.
No one was injured, but dozens had to be evacuated.

People in the building said they heard what they described to be an “explosion” that blew out the window panes before the fire.
