WASHINGTON 鈥擱ockville Pike reopened shortly before 8 a.m. Thursday after a water main break that closed lanes for more than a day.
Crews had been working聽to repair the break in a 74-year-old main on Rockville Pike near Cedar Lane that happened Tuesday afternoon.
For most of Wednesday.聽one southbound lane and two northbound lanes got by聽on聽Rockville Pike between Jones Bridge Road and Pooks Hill Road.
Early Thursday,聽Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission said that more road had to be cut out than initially expected after the 16-inch main broke on Tuesday afternoon.
