WASHINGTON 鈥 Two forms of awesome are coming together in the music world, and one of them can鈥檛 seem to handle it.

Singer-songwriter Ryan Adams announced on social media that he is covering Taylor Swift鈥檚 1989 album track-by-track, and Swift evidently couldn鈥檛 be happier.

In a series of tweets and Instagram posts over the past few nights, Adams has kept a rolling account of his process, describing his version of 鈥淥ut of the Woods鈥 as 鈥淢aybe the best sad song I ever did.鈥

Fans of Swift鈥檚 original songs may find new depth in the 鈥渟pooky鈥 covers Adams has posted.

鈥淪o much going on in these songs,鈥 he tweeted Thursday.

Photos on Adams鈥檚 Instagram account hint at future covers of 鈥淪tyle鈥 and 鈥淏lank Space鈥 as well.

Adams began posting about his endeavor on Thursday night. Using Twitter and Instagram, Adams managed to get the attention of Swift herself, with the help of a fan. Hasief Ardiasyah, an editor for Rolling Stone Indonesia, tweeted at Swift on August 5, prompting an excited response from the singer on August 6.

Using the hashtag #1989, Adams has been teasing his followers with clips of songs like 鈥淲elcome To New York鈥 and 鈥淪hake It Off.鈥 Adams described his cover of 鈥淪hake It Off鈥 by comparing it to a Bruce Springsteen song, but has yet to post the track online.
