Amtrak’s Acela Express and Northeast Regional service resume

WASHINGTON —ÌýAmtrak service resumed Friday afternoon after an earlier suspension that affected Acela Express and Northeast Regional service between Wilmington, Delaware, and Philadelphia.

Trains were being heldÌýbetween Wilmington and PhiladelphiaÌýafter reports of an officer shot.

in Philadelphia reported that an officer has been shot multiple times in Folcroft in Pennsylvania’s Delaware County.

An Amtrak spokesman tells ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ that two trains outside of Philadelphia are being held, as well as one outside of Wilmington.

Amtrak said Keystone Service fromÌýHarrisburg to Philadelphia and New York was notÌýimpacted.

Amtrak said its police department was “coordinatingÌýclosely with local police to resumeÌýnormal service as quickly and safely as possible.”
