GW women’s basketball wins A-10 title

WASHINGTON — For third time in four years, George Washington University’s women’s basketball team are the champions of the Atlantic-10 conference.

The Colonials beat the St. Joseph Hawks 65-49 to punch their ticket to the NCAA Tournament.

They will find out who they play in the first round of the tourney on March 12 at 7 p.m. during the Women’s NCAA College Basketball Selection Show. The first round starts Friday, March 16. The championship game will be played on April 1 in Columbus, Ohio, at the Nationwide Arena.

This is the Colonials second season under head coach Jennifer Rizzotti, who coached at Hartford for 17 seasons before taking the job with the Colonials.
