WASHINGTON 鈥� The University of Maryland Baltimore County won the America East Conference tournament with a win over Vermont.
The win gives UMBC an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. It’s UMBC’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2008.
Silver Spring, Maryland, native Jairus Lyles hit the game-winning 3-pointer with just half a second left to give the Retrievers the 65-62 win over the Vermont Catamounts.
