ACC game between U.Va., Georgia Tech canceled after COVID-19 case; Georgia advances

The Atlantic Coast Conference basketball game between the University of Virginia and Georgia Tech has been canceled following a COVID-19 case involving Virginia, the conference announced.

The game had been scheduled for Friday night.

The conference said there was a positive coronavirus case in the Virginia basketball program that led to quarantining and contact tracing.

With the cancellation of the game, Virginia is out of the running for the ACC Tournament championship and Georgia Tech advances to the championship game, playing the winner of Friday night’s game between Florida State vs. North Carolina.
