Battle over new Montgomery Co. middle school heats up

KENSINGTON, Md. – The battle over where to put a new middle school is kicking into a new gear

Montgomery County Parks and Planning Staff want the board to reject Montgomery County schools Superintendent Joshua Starr’s recommendation that Rock Creek Hills Park in Kensington be the site for the new school for the Bethesda-Chevy Chase cluster.

The school system has done two searches for the site, and ended up choosing the site .

Parks staff want the school system to consider a private site — which the site selection advisory committee said was too expensive — or to look at other former school sites which Superintendent Joshua Starr says are too small.

The parks and planning board meets to talk about it Monday night
