WASHINGTON – When police say they are cracking down cell phone use while driving, they mean it.
Fox ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ Sunday host Chris Wallace learned the hard way on Thursday morning.
Wallace was in the middle of a live phone interview with radio host Jamie Allen, discussing President Obama’s campaign on his cell phone, when a D.C. police officer pulled him over.
As the host was speaking, Wallace interrupted to say he had a problem.
“I’m talking to you on a cell phone and there’s a policeman here and I probably shouldn’t have been talking on a cell phone,” Wallace said. “So, uh. I’m about to get arrested. Good-bye.”
Wallace hung up the phone and left the host and his listeners confused for a moment, until they heard a dial tone.
Some blogs are reporting that Wallace was arrested, but Fox ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ says he was not.
