Young NY Giants fan opens up piggy bank to get player back

WASHINGTON – One young New York Giants fan was willing to do whatever he had to do to get two-time Super Bowl Champion Brandon Jacobs back in a Big Blue uniform.

And that meant raiding his piggy bank.

Jacobs left the Giants for the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason. When six- year-old Joe asked his mother why Jacobs left, she explained the Giants did not have enough money to keep him.

So Joe sent Jacobs a fan letter, asking him to return to his beloved team:

“Dear Brandon Jacobs, so you could go to the Giants, here is my money. Love, Joe.”

Enclosed was $3.36 in a plastic sandwich bag.

Jacobs tweeted a photo of the letter and bag of money.

He followed it with another tweet, “I almost cried. I’m still trying to hold it in. I may have to pay him a surprise visit.”

Jacobs promised he would repay his young fan with a trip to Chuck E. Cheese with his own son to make up for his departure.
