WASHINGTON – Fairfax County Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible for stabbing a 15-month-old dog in Mount Vernon, Va. Friday.
Animal Control officers were called to pick up the dog around 9 a.m. in the 3500 block of Rolling Hills Avenue. They found, Cane, a white pit bull, with injuries to the left side of his neck.
A veterinarian determined Cane had been stabbed in the neck.
Officers are now searching for a suspect.
The owner, unable to cover the costs of Cane’s care, turned the dog over to the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.
