RGIII signs contract with Redskins

WASHINGTON – The Washington Redskins have signed quarterback Robert Griffin III to a contract.

The Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback from Baylor was the second pick in this year’s draft, but had missed two days of the Redskins’ five-day rookie camp while he was unsigned.

Griffin was due a four-year deal worth about $21 million under the collective bargaining agreement ratified by the NFL and the union to end last year’s lockout. reports the deal is worth $21,119,098 for four years and is fully guaranteed.

On Wednesday morning, Griffin tweeted he was “off the unemployment line.” Shortly afterward, the Redskins tweeted the news as well.
